Artigam Best thing about having this third pregnancy so soon after the first two, I just found all my maternity clothes that I had packed up. Plus having had one summer pregnancy, and one winter pregnancy, I have clothes for all weather. yay!

I'm sure Rick agrees.
Artigam on Monday March 8, 2010
Yeah he does :) Saving money makes everyone happy. Also a plus, we have plenty of baby girl clothes and plenty of baby boy clothes, a car seat, bassinett, new born diapers, and everything else we will need for number 3.

Spencer, I could use that now ;)

By the way, how are you feeling and when is the baby due. Is is going to be a surprise?
Artigam on Thursday March 11, 2010
Baby is due August 18 (same due date that I had for Amelia although Amelia was born on the 21st). We decided that since we already have a boy and a girl that this one will be a surprise! I am feeling much better now that I am in the 2nd trimester. Feeling some movement from the baby these days, and that is my favorite part of pregnancy.

Artigam Eliott turned 1 on February 28!!!! My mom threw him an awesome Diego party at her house this past weekend and all his Aunts and Uncles were there including Christin who flew in from California. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since he was born!

OMG Peter, you took the words right out of my mouth. Anyway, Elliot, it must be great to be one, and being such a good cake eater, happy trails and birthday to you, Elliot...as a kid, I used to live next to the Elliots, in San Diego, on 4364 Cannington Dr. and our phone numer was (714) 277-3313....the "Juice"
Peter312 on Tuesday March 2, 2010
Really it was 714? When we moved to Corona we had 714, then 909 and now 951.
UncleSteven on Tuesday March 2, 2010
Peter, it was 714, as long as the zipcode at the time in 1965, was 92117. It later got changed to 619...the "Juice"
Tami on Wednesday March 3, 2010
Happy Birthday Elliot, you are adorable and I can see you know the best part of the Birthday celebration. My favorite too, bring on the cake and ice-cream !!!! Why don't we get to eat our cake and ice-cream like that every year and not just on our first birthday? Since I don't remember my first I think I am going to try it this year on my big 50, that is if someone makes me a Cake. YUM YUM !!!!!

Very cute, it's always fun to do art projects with the kids, they have so much creativity and aren't limited by ( grass is only green) Those comments come and start to inhibit us and make us unsure sometimes of ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving to your family.
Artigam on Saturday November 21, 2009
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well!
UncleSteven on Saturday November 21, 2009
Oh, I love it. Those Turkeys remind me of the old NBC logo back in the sixties. When we used to have turkey's in the back forty, behind the fence, Joyce used to call the turkeys with gobbles, and they would come. Joyce would say, show me your colors, and they would spread their tails...wow...life is grand...Steven

Artigam On Veteran's Day I want to say thank you to all the men and women who have served this country in our military. Special thank you to Uncle Chris who died serving his country and for whom Eliott gets his middle name and hopefully many of his attributes as well. I am honored to be part of a family with so many who have served in the military. Today Amelia and I read a book from the library about a little girl whose father was sent to fight in World War II. It was humbling and heart breaking to read about the sacrifice so many soldiers have made and also the sacrifice that their families make as well. So many children and spouses are missing their loved ones right now who are deployed overseas and I think it is so important that we realize and honor the sacrifices that they are making for our country.

Amen to that!
Peter312 on Thursday November 12, 2009
I so humbly agree. I think of the sacrifice my Mom made for all of those years with 5 boys, and Dad gone, especially in 1968 while in Vietnam for a year. I am so thankful for all of the service men and women and their families for their sacrifice for our freedom.
MikeSr on Thursday November 12, 2009
Amen to that as well! The families sacrifice as well! And with multiple deployments, I am humbled by their ability to cope. I struggled through one deployment.

Artigam Hello Roundeo! Been absent for awhile. We recently completed our move to Greensboro NC. Ricky came a few weeks early as work was calling. It worked out great since he was able to unload our POD and get all the furniture set up while the kids and I were happily taken care of at my mom's house. Things couldn't have worked out better. We found a great 3 bedroom apartment that was a lot less expensive than the apartment we had lived in in Charlottesville. Amelia was super excited to come to North Carol-line-da as she calls it. She has her own room here as does Eliott and we have finally unpacked almost all the boxes. We still have some things left to set up and we are looking for the right furniture for Eliott's room but so far we love Greensboro. We have already found a great park for the kids to play at and our apartment has a cute playground too. I can find my way successfully to the grocery store, target, walmart, and a few other things. We had our first round of visitors over Halloween weekend. Christin, Lauren, Vladimir (Lauren's boyfriend) and my mother and father in law came to visit. Amelia had decided what everyone would be for Halloween and her aunts were happy to oblige. Christin was a "callerina" (cross between a princess and a ballerina?), Ricky was a dinosaur, Lauren was Swiper from Dora, Vladimir was a bumble bee, I was a butterfly, Amelia was a lady bug, and Eliott was a pumpkin. We took photos outside and then everyone got behind a door in our apartment and Ricky took Amelia "trick or treating". Christin has put up the photos on facebook. Really feel like God has blessed this move and taken care of our family throughout. It is nice to be settled and we are enjoying getting to know our new city.

How far away from Charlotte are you? My band will be playing there next week on Friday the 13th! I am sure it is too far away, but would love to see you. Love the costumes and congrats on the move.
spencer on Thursday November 5, 2009
Congrats on the move! What takes you to North Carolina?
Anita on Thursday November 5, 2009
Hey Peter__Maybe Mike and I will come to hear the band. What are the particulars?????
Artigam on Thursday November 5, 2009
Charlotte is 70 or 80 miles away give or take, so it is certainly possible. Hey mom if you and dad come down maybe we could all go together. Amelia read the book you made her with your picture in it tonight for bed time. She got real excited when she found Amah!!!!!!
harmony on Thursday November 5, 2009
Yay, an update! How far are you from your parents now? Your place sounds nice. Dad you're going back east again with your band? Wow, you guys really "tour". I love the costumes. It's a crack up that Amelia told everyone what to be and everyone complied!
Artigam on Friday November 6, 2009
Spencer------ Ricky has been working on his own as an independent contractor doing engineering, drafting, and design across multiple disciplines for about two years now. He started just finding extra work after I stopped working to stay home with Amelia and then as he kept finding new clients he began working for himself full time. His biggest client has been a company called Memios who is headquartered here in Greensboro. They design pneumatic waste transport systems and with the green movement they have been really busy with projects all over the country. He spent most of the past year in Charlottesville traveling to Greensboro, Houston, Boston, and Florida working on their projects. They made him an offer to get him here and it works great for our family because now that we are in Greensboro he can spend more time at home with us.
Peter312 on Friday November 6, 2009
We are playing from 9:00 to 12:00 on Friday in downtown Charlotte at the Westin Charlotte Hotel! I would love to see you guys. We will be setting up at the hotel from 4:00 P.M. on, so you can come early also. I will be there Thursday night, so all day Friday is available too. Let me know.

"Come closer, now move back." To which we would all come in to a close circle and then move the circle back out. She was quite the MC and made sure everyone was participating.

I read the article and have no doubt that it is true. I think people have become overly cautious about germs. What child hasn't played in the dirt at some time and I think there is good reason for that. The one thing I am strict about is the wash your hands after the bathroom thing. Other than that, I say a little dirt here and there, part of a good healthy life !

Artigam Do you want to test your knowledge of American civics? Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better? Questions were drawn from past ISI surveys, as well as other nationally recognized exams.

I did it and I"m ashamed. I got a 73%. 10 years ago I got a 5 on the AP History test. Obviously that would not happen now. At least I did better than the average but thats not saying much is it!
spencer on Thursday November 20, 2008
You answered 22 out of 33 correctly — 66.67 %
I'm below average. But, I must say I answered all questions without "googling" the answers and while my kids were asking me to do other stuff. In other words, pretty impressive - or at least "so there".
Artigam on Thursday November 20, 2008
Since your kids were asking you to do other stuff at the time, I think you can add points to your score :)
Peter312 on Thursday November 20, 2008
I scored 27 out of 33 or 81.82%
harmony on Friday November 21, 2008
i'm surprised spencer i expected you to do better than me. but i guess i'll buy your excuse. and i didn;t google anything either, that would be cheating.
Peter312 on Friday November 21, 2008
I did not google any answer either, were we supposed to cheat? Anyways where are my kudos for beating both of you.
harmony on Friday November 21, 2008
to be expected that you beat us. i guess i didn't comment because I wasn't at all surprised by your B score, except maybe that I expected it to be higher ! jk. Actually 27 out of 33 is really good, it means you only missed 6.
Peter312 on Friday November 21, 2008
And after looking at the answers and what I was originally going to put on those 6 answers I would have had more. I can't believe I missed who can declare war, I knew it was Congress but I put the President, dumb.
spencer on Friday November 21, 2008
Well, I got that one right - so there. I mentioned google because the current average is at 78%, which I think is high, so I suspect that people are quickly googling answers they aren't sure of. I won't add any points to my score because I'm proud of my 2/3rds correct!
Peter312 on Friday November 21, 2008
Way to go!!!!! I think your right, I would assme many would be googling for the answers.
MikeSr on Sunday November 23, 2008
I missed two, and wanted to argue about one of them: on the Puritans. Then again, I live in the DC area, so I am surrounded by the nation's government! When will Grandpa Child complete the quiz.
Artigam on Monday November 24, 2008
I missed three and I got the Puritan question right dad so I do not think you can argue that one. :)
Peter312 on Monday November 24, 2008
I had no doubt you would score well Mike, way to go Marin.
LaurenChild on Friday November 28, 2008
You answered 23 out of 33 correctly — 69.70 % .... I did not do very well at all. A lot of the questions I sat questioning myself over and over. That's sad.

But, at least you took the test and are concerned about the score. Next time, I believe you will do much better!

Although I suspect we would have been just as excited if we were having another girl, it just seems more real to me once I know the sex of the baby.

Tami on Friday November 14, 2008
How exciting, our family is growing and I love it. How wonderful to know you will have a boy. I know I would have felt somewhat left out if I only had boys or just girls. It's nice to experience both. It's amazing how many people say Boys are easier and then also Girls are easier, although a bit rarer. Either way being a parent opens our hearts in a way we never knew possible. I miss my grandchildren so much seeing all the things they learn and do daily is such a wonder and delight. We are happy for you and the Grandparents too.
Peter312 on Friday November 14, 2008
Alright!! I am excited for you guys. I loved having both a girl and all of the boys, there certainly was a big difference between the two sexes. I enjoyed all of the time I got to spend with each of my kids in sports, school and church. I really to miss those times. I am looking forward to see the grandkids go through all of these experiences now. I am so glad that things are going well.

Marin, isn't hospitality great.  You get to meet people when they expect to have fun, and share their lives momentarily, and make sure that you treat them well, and they go home and say nice things about their experience and give the same type of feeling to friends, family and coworkers, and the world goes round and round...jokers to the left of me, clowns to the right, here they all are stuck in the middle with you and me...Uncle Steven

Hi Uncle Steven,

I am a newcomer to Roundbook so I just thought I would stop by your site and say hi.  I see you have lots of blogs already posted so I can go through and catch up on all the things you have been doing since I saw you last.   My husband is very anxious to meet you, so hopefully one day we can make it out to California.  At least now he can meet you via internet.  He has heard so much about you (all good) and already become a fan of the famous zuchini relish.  Well I miss you, and I hope you are well!
