Tuesday, November 25 - Dan taking a picture on the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Boardwalk.
Tuesday, November 25 - One of many beautiful homes on Robert's Bay. Bruce and I are kayacking in Dan and Debbie's kayack.
Wednesday, November 26 - Alligator in the Everglades. The grass is sawgrass and we are on an airboat.
We played Ticket to Ride every night. Debbie won the first night, Dan won the second, Shad won the third and Bruce won the fourth.
Mom, when i first looked at this I thought, "was Docena there." and then i realized it was you!
Did Darrell play too? Wish we could've been there and played too. Had Dan and Debbie played before?
Dad, Dan, Debbie and I played Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Darrell played with us on Thursday night and Dan didn't. Only five people maximum can play. Darrell went to bed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday so the rest of us played. Dan doesn't like to play games but he liked Ticket to Ride. Dan and Debbie had never heard of the game. We took it with us. Dad and I love this game. We invite different people over to play it with us nearly every week. We played other games as well - Mexican Train Dominoes, Nertz, Five Crowns, Shanghai (a variation of Phase 10), and Mr. Ree. Dad and Debbie played Mr. Ree as children. It is a pre-cursor to Clue. Debbie found it on the internet and ordered it. We wanted Debbie to teach us Canasta but we didn't get around to it. We didn't watch any TV while there. We just played games and visited.
Just for the Rare Occurrences record, I did win once.
Thursday, November 27 - Thanksgiving - Dolphins were playing in Robert's Bay. We were on Dan's boat.
Wednesday, November 26 - relaxing in Dan and Debbie's pool.
A mama alligator protecting her five young babies in the Everglades. We didn't see the babies. The airboat captain told us about them.
Dan and Debbie's boat and home in the background.
Another intense Ticket to Ride game.
Friday, November 28 - Picking up seashells on Cape Romano, one of the 10,000 mangrove islands.
cool. Cado says, "Gramma looks a little young."
(if he doesn't already know it, tell Dad he needs to clean his lens.)
I agree with Cado. Yep, I cleaned my lens when I got home. But that was really a UFO.
Shad and Darrell making a canal on Cape Romano Island.
We picked up this beach bum guy
What a handsome lad!
He looks pretty skeptical of you guys.
He looks pretty skeptical of you guys.
Some get to stay in Florida and some have to return to Utah and their snow shovels
Did you guys go in the water?
Bruce, Darrell and Shad jumped in the water to water ski. The water was cold. Dad did ski about 3 minutes. Darrell got up but went down and wasn't able to ski. Shad tried to get up a few times. The water was too cold to keep trying.
Fanatics will ski at any water temperature, as long as they have adequate body fat
there's my answer! I'm glad you got to do this! Is this the ocean? Isn't it quite warm in Florida water?
Dad thought it would be warm. He was in Ft. Lauderdale at the beginning of November last year and thought the water was like bath water. But it wasn't warm this year.
How's the new ski dad? Did you miss your aggressive wooden ski (assuming this one isn't like your old one)? Or was it nice to have the ski do some of the work?
Actually, dad didn't like this ski even though it was wider and that should have made it easier to get out of the water. Dad didn't cross the wake. He just stayed on one side of the boat and he couldn't cut as well with this ski. Could it be that he is older and heavier? You couldn't convince him. So he left the ski in Florida and if he ever goes again, he will take his ski.
Debbie and Dan are great hosts and the location isn't bad either
the whole crew huh.
Yep! Dan set his camera so he could be in the picture. A woman walked by in front of us and commented that it looked like we were all lined up for school to start. Then Debbie remarked that we could sit in a circle, but we enjoyed the view and we loved watching the birds and pelicans. We just passed food up and down the row. We had turkey sandwiches from the Thanksgiving turkey. Yum Yum!
Mom, you really do look young here!
Nice picture. I think you should've stood up on when of the wooden posts out in the ocean.
There was a bird or pelican on every post. There are more posts behind me. When one would fly away another would take it's place. I lost 10 pounds last summer. I have gained 5 pounds back, but I don't want to gain any more.
Who's that young teenage girl with dad in this picture?
That is a nice compliment from you all. I only look young because I have sunglasses on.

This album is public for all to see.
