So this is an accomplishment for me. I have a new photo album goal, no more than 100 photos per album period. ever! Which I know is a lot, but that's max. And I am going to try to keep it to one or two "pages" (which is like 20 or so photos). And this is where picasa's collages are going to help me. So do zoom on these or they're pretty worthless!

Oh, and this collage is from a day at "Baby Plage" on our lake with the Cowans. We took the maquettes (boats that are part of the public transport system). It's one of our favorite places, with tire swings and a sandy beach. We had lots of fun, we are sure going to miss these guys when they move back to the states soon.
Tami on Friday September 11, 2009
Good job! You guys just have soo much fun. I know it will be really hard when the Cowan's move !!! Is Geneve ALWAYS happy it sure seems like it. By the way I love your picture Harmony. Your looking as beautiful as always..

Geneve is always happy, except when falling asleep or being bullied too much by her siblings.

I feel I need to take a moment to say that the new photo album uploading is awesome. where it says "share" at the top of your roundeo, there are all your options, you choose "photo album, and then name it and then browse, and you can actually select all your photos at once, click open or whatever and then they all load while you do whatever, and then you just click "share" to complete the deal. You can rearrange them after they've loaded, or delete them easily with a "delete box" that's pink, to the right, etc. Try it out. Also, in case you haven't noticed, you can choose, 3 different ways of viewing an album, thumbs, full (classic roundbook style), in-line (like blogger); and then you can click on any photo and it will get even larger. Anyway, Spencer isn't going to toot his own horn, but he has done a tremendous job on this site and there are a lot of improvements and innovations. Even, so with him it is always improving, so if there's something you don't like, don't get, or a "bug" let him know!

And this collage is from a Saturday where we went up "La Saleve" the mountain always in our view from Geneva. It's really closeby, we took a gondola up (called a telepherique) and then we "hiked" and watched all of the paragliders jumping off the mountain, there were tons of them going off all day. We had a picnic up here, enjoyed the views and even found a couple of cherry trees. Spencer was wary and would not eat them, but he missed out, the rest of us enjoyed them and didn't get the least bit sick. Cado still talks about the mountain with the berries. We played a make believe game about a dark witch, and forest of darkness, and fairies, and we had a whole quest, etc. OH, Geneve hadn't been walking long, but she was determined to walk along the steep mountain and it was a bit stressful. For some reason she really wanted to walk towards the edge and walk down not up, so she fell and got held back a lot. It really was a great day.
spencer on Thursday September 10, 2009
Yah, the photo album uploading and sharing is really cool! Thanks for the acknowledgement.

I love Geneve's smile and the pictures of the cherries.
spencer on Friday September 11, 2009
Or it was cool until you found all the bugs with it. Thanks for testing it and being patient.
spencer on Saturday September 12, 2009
OK. I think the bugs are gone, and a couple improvements too. Thanks for the patience.

pools, parks, and a bbq with friends with our grill at our backyard park.
harmony on Friday September 11, 2009
OH, I also need to say, that Cado is a really great swimmer! And Diver! He has done so well this summer. If he didn't have a nagging fear, he'd be just fine on his own swimming without floaties, but he thinks he wouldn't be, so most of the time he wears them. But when we take them off he does fine, as long as he knows someone is right there within a few feet. He saw Daddy dive at the lake, Spencer used to dive in high school so he's still got some tricks up his sleeve and he's fun to watch, and Cado really wanted to do it too. So next time we were at the pool he was literally diving in, head first, back dives, etc. It was really cool!

Aww you two look super cute! Geneve is just adorable. I love her hair! I really feel like you can see her personality now in the pictures.

My girls are so beautiful because my wife is.
Tami on Friday September 11, 2009
True, true Spencer. And Cado is so handsome because of you right ! I think my Grandchildren are tops in all ways but maybe I am a bit biased. Neve is all Sunshine in Yellow. It brings out her blue eyes. I want to nibble those chubby little fingers.

she fell asleep in her high chair! This hasn't happened very often with my kis. She must have been really exhausted for some reason. she's never done it since either. usually getting them to take a nap or go to bed is kind of difficult!

Oh my my, to pretty. a little scary though. That's one gorgeous girl you will have to watch the boys like a hawk. And fight them off with a sword. That's where big brother will come in handy right!! Well let's not think about that yet. Her hair looks cute like that.

Funny to see here with training wheels. It's really cool that he rides his bike now, although he does fall occassionally and get's really upset when he does. But he's learning to deal with life, so that's good.

FYI for any parents out there. His helmet position is a perfect example of the WRONG way to wear a helmet. I've since fixed the straps so that it sits on top of his head. A helmet should protect the forehead or it's almost not worth wearing. Plus, see how loose it is - it would just move around if it hit something hard and his head would still ultimately get it.
Tami on Friday September 11, 2009
Glad ya fixed it !!! I know when Grandpa called last the kids where comparing there cuts and sores on their knees.

Is that right in the park next to you guys? I don't remember seeing it.
harmony on Friday September 11, 2009
yep. it's just the water fountain. These are at almost every park. I like these pictures because they do highlight how cool these are and that we're not in America. This is such a Geneva thing to me: drinking fountains like this everywhere or the more grandiose versions with flowers, etc. This one looks quite monumental next to that little girl. She really likes putting her feet in there. Don't worry she gets bathed regularly!

Does it rain in the summer there? When does the weather start changing to fall, we have had hot hot weather here and probably will until the end of October, as you know from growing up here. I am looking forward to cooler days.
harmony on Friday September 11, 2009
The weather in Geneva is quite temperate, as in there is not a huge difference from season to season. look at the weather averages here: And also, the precipitation chart is interesting, it shows that rain falls almost consistently thoughtout the year. I don't mind the summer rain and storms, in fact I really like them, except when they get in the way of our outings or pool plans! I like a good evening storm. We got caught in a bad one, the first time I've really been caught in the middle of one outside, we were drenched, but the kids and I enjoyed it. What I really love is the thunder and lightning.

"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley "I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley
