We debated a lot about having Santa, but finally decided to do it. he came at the end after the prayer and while everyone was having dessert. we wanted it to be lowkey and nonchalant to not take the spirit away from what we had just done. i think it worked.

It did work.  It was interesting though - since he wasn't in the program or announced, no one even mentioned that he wasn't there.  That was complete without him too.  But I'm sure the kids were very excited to have the bag of treats from him.
