My what a big mouth you have.
Oh, so why is Paisley a sheep dressed in "Mary" clothes? She calls Ancient Israel clothes Mary clothes. Oh, and its really cute she says "Mary and Jovis" (for Joseph). Anway, she wanted to be in Mary clothes for the party, but they asked her to be a sheep in the creche. Before i knew it being crazy busy, she was on stage like this. i snuk up as soon as i could and took this red thing off her. And aren't her sheep ears convincing? cotton balls pinned to a headband. yeah, normally i'm a bit better at these things but it was a crazy night. She sort of stole the show. She was quite silly up there. she was pulling her shirt up off her belly and her tights were falling as to show her bum crack and she was just wandering around aimlessly like a sheep without a shepherd.
Jennie and I delegated the stage to the primary and a brother in the ward. I think they did a great job. And just a bit of trivia, that star backdrop is entirely made of napkins. no, i'm not kidding.
The star backdrop out of napkins is true. Looks great.
This Sister, Manuella sang Picture a Christmas while each group of the primary nativity scene came out. Her husband is playing the guitar. It was awesome.
This comment has nothing to do with this photo, but since i'm not going to bother writing a blog about this, i have to say that one of the most frustrating things/glitches in the night was that about 10 minutes before the party started my voice bit the dust. like there and gone. It was crazy. I guess it had been getting rougher and fading the whole day, but it seemed so sudden when it was just gone. I was supposed to sing in two numbers and one was a duet with a woman named Sissy that involved solos and I got up and felt like, well, Ariel. If you don't know what i mean you do not have a little girl. Nothing came out, i could hardly speak, but i ended up just speaking my lines with the piano behind them, and then the other woman sang hers. People said, really it was still so beautiful. that was very nice of them. what else could i do, i didn't want to just bail on Sissy. Anyway, it was a bummer. A lot of people were losing their voices, Jennie couldn't sing either.
Very sad, especially when since when you practicing that morning it sounded so good.
the wisest wise man of them all, Cado. pretty cool that his name means gift and he got to be a giver of gifts in the show. He of course loved every second of it.
k wait... is that a burger king crown with stickers placed over the burgerking part ? ; )
close! its from the disneyland princess land.
AHh!! I knew that looked familiar! ;)

We debated a lot about having Santa, but finally decided to do it. he came at the end after the prayer and while everyone was having dessert. we wanted it to be lowkey and nonchalant to not take the spirit away from what we had just done. i think it worked.
It did work. It was interesting though - since he wasn't in the program or announced, no one even mentioned that he wasn't there. That was complete without him too. But I'm sure the kids were very excited to have the bag of treats from him.
the bethlehem well, created mainly by my friend and visiting teacher, Ruth Muller.
Oh my gosh, what a great idea! You guys really delivered. I think creativity far out ways cost. I say that because our ward spent a TON on decorations to make it look "cute" but it was so not origional, just the same ole thang with fake candy and Christmas trees and wrapping paper.... I like yours wayyyyyy better.
Harmony and Jennie in matching shawls and really tired no-makeup faces.
With out the head-dress I think Jennie's outfit is very washed up Ariel from the Little Mermaid.
Spencer brought the laptop and all of the Christmas shows we have, which was surprisingly many, to occupy the kids during the days and hours of prep/take down.
I bought "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on iTunes.

This album is public for all to see.

Jennie and I pretty much spent the whole month of November putting this event together and fortunately it was a success. i really didn't have time to be taking pictures, so i have very few of poor quality.
we called it A night in BEthlehem. A lot of people dressed up. we had a music/narration program, middle eastern food, and a creche by the kids. we strung the ceiling with lights like starts, but they ended up being up too bright! We had a lot of help from husbands and ward members, and our great kids who went neglected for awhile. But the ward said it was very special and the best one yet. YAY! It was a cool experience and I'm glad they asked us.
Great Turnout! Looks like you did a great job!!!
Ahhh, I LOVE IT!! I SOOO wanted to do something origional for our ward party, but I got VETOED by the head of the planning commitee. We just had boring old ham and funeral potatoes, yuck! Wish I was on your commitee, looks like you guys totally rocked it!
It was amazing and we had a really good turnout too. One member said something like "I couldn't see/understand/fathom what Harmony was trying put together - but once I got here tonight it all comes together so well."
