The flavors we tasted of Barcelona our first day. Gaudi's cathedral was the highlight.

We had a great trip! Unfortunately I didn't have time to write a blog to go with these albums before going to Utah, and I don't now either and it's no longer fresh in my memory, and it's probably best to just move forward and be current with what's going on in life now! So if you're interested, the pictures will have to tell the story. :/

We did do the bus tour of Barcelona. Cado and Paisley handled that reasobly well, Geneve was a bit antsy.

Cado loved this Cathedral....but he was concerned about the figure of Christ being completely naked. That wasn't the only completely naked person. Fortunately we were able to keep him from seeing the completely naked guy walking around the park here.:/

It was really cool to go into the cathedral and see how it is still a work in progress. They plan to have it done within the decade I think.

Paella. I got mine already deshelled and what not. I couldn't handle dealing with the entire beast of shrimp; eyes and feeler thingies included. Like this it was quite good. Even muscles, which i had in Belgium and found disgusting, apparently when done right are good. (They should have been done right in Belgium, they're known for them, we just went to a bad place). I shared some of this wtih Cado and he just LOVED it. He loved the muscles and calamari the best.

This is explaining one of the many intricate and thoughtful works on this cathedral, this one being a number box that no matter how you put the numbers together comes to.....hmmm I forget what number they all come to! something significant.

the story of Christ's life is told on the front of the Cathedral, the red line illustrates how it goes.

Words of Wisdom I hope I can remember and live by!
"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley "I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley
