So honestly, I had this album all in order the first time I made it, but it didn't work properly and now I'm too exhausted and out of time to put it in order.
this collage is of Christmas present opening.

Christmas day game playing and hanging out. We also celebrated Grandma's birthday with kebabs and some kind of treat.

We spent a few days in the alps in a place called Chandolin. It was a really cool lodge place and we had fun playing in the snow. There's a snowflake example for you on Cado's hat. We had a luggage/present crisis. The luggage with all of Christmas in them did not come until a couple of days after Christmas, so our christmas was really simple, each kid just got a stocking and one present from their siblings which was a book. And it was cool to see how special those presents were to them. It ended up being a really special Christmas because eventually the presents did come. Its too bad I'm tired and have no time, because there is much more I'd like to say about all this!

In front of our hotel leaving on Sunday morning. The girls pretty dresses, thanks Grami, and the view as we drove away.

Some "Christmas day" moments and other fun when the grandparents were here. Christmas day for us was mostly the 28th, and Gma and Pa left very early the next morning. We put a lot into that day!

Our fun nativity activity, thanks Grama!
Its also cool because at this time we still didn't know if we'd be having Christmas. After the kids went to bed, grampa and daddy went to check AGAIN at the airport, and we women waited in suspense, we were beyond excited when they called to say they had them! So that made this Christmas eve, and it was perfect that way.

Santa presents. The kids had no idea if they were going to wake up to presents or not. It was strange. They slept in to their normal hour (7!) and then we told them, hey guess what, its Christmas! It was great. Cado was a bit disappointed he didn't get the ultimate Buzz Lightyear he's always wanted. But he's working for it by reading every day.

The men in our lives did a very good job. Mom got lots of thoughtful gifts, and I got a trip to London to see Wicked! (Spencer was clever enough to have that count as both Christmas and birthday, we went the day after my birthday on FEb 2nd)

in the alps at our lodge. Santa and his reindeer came. It was quite fun and comical. He gave the kids their stockings.
oh and the food was pretty amazing.

This was a most memorable Christmas - the peculiar circumstances - being in the Alps - delayed Christmas - The Nativity props and actors - the food - the hospitality - everything added up to perfection. Thanks Roundy's and Harmony thanks for displaying all these pictures. You always do a fabulous job!

Grandma and Grandpa arrived quite a bit later than expected (this and the luggage was due to tons of snow at the time), but they got to Cado and Paisley's school just in time to catch the end of their Christmas spectacle.

more nativity pictures. Geneve was cracking us up. She was wearing whatever she wanted. And Spencer also made us laugh because he was goofing off like a 10 year old instead of listening to his Mom. Being once again in a Family Home evening setting with his Mom apparently had this effect. :)

first night in the alps. We had raclette the night before at our place...but apparently we shouldn't have, because we also had it here. Two nights in a row of melted cheese on potatoes isn't exactly good on the stomach. AFter eating this and the next nights (Christmas eve) dinner, Mom and Dad weren't feeling very well on Christmas day...they were stuck in their room with sick stomachs. :(

checking out the cool department store, Manor. 5 or so stories of awesomeness and every genre of things such a store could have: food, clothes, toys, home things, furnishings, decor, etc etc.

playing in the snow in the alps. Cado and Paisley tried skiing for the first time. It was too cold, too powdery and without a system to pull them back up, so they didn't really like it that much. We've been one other time since, and Paisley and Geneve both loved it. Cado...not so much. which could be somewhat surprising unless one understands that while Cado is very physically able and generally crazy and daring, he doesn't always too so well when the going gets tough, as in his frustration tolerance is low. So a few falls and he couldn't see how what he was getting out of it was worth it. I relate, because as I know my parents remember well, I got easily upset and frustrated with things that didn't seem to work or that I couldn't make work. So, there's light at the end, I don't consider myself a quitter or someone who can't handle a challenge now. Anyway, it was cold and foggy, but we tried to make the best of it and came back very worn out.

oh, this is the same as above, having problems, but notice in the picture in the right upper quarter, (2nd down from top, 2nd from right) is Geneve looking shroud like wrapped in my scarf being pulled on the sled because she konked out.

"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley "I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley
