The Swiss national celebration is on August 1st. We went to a Park where they were having a big party, but I think due to bad weather there was hardly anyone there. Here we are in front of the park and a statue.

You sure don't look like you guys are dressed for bad weather, and looking at the sky it doesn't look so bad.

It built up as the day went on, and ended up being a very wet day, not a full down pour, but never stopped.

Love Cado's face here! Paisley loved her face painting. It was free.

All the kids were invited to climb up this to grab a piggy bank, but if they couldn't do it the ring was lowered and they all got one no matter what. there were 2 francs in it. It was a very wet, slippery pole due to the rain, so Cado was unsuccessful, but fortunately didn't realize it and was happy about his pig.

I told Paisley hers was a fairy princess. Before she got it she kept saying, I want a cute face like that! and the next day she woke up and said, "where's my cute face? its gone!" so I painted a new one for her with watercolors!

He loved this! This is how he used his 2 francs. You can see the look of triumph!

On August 2nd Paisley got to go to a "Fancy Nancy party." Laura Gaag's, one of my friends, daughter Justine turned 3 and Laura put on an amazing party. Decorations, a homemade pinata, little personalized purses for each of the girls, cute little finger foods, butterfly cupcakes. It was too much! She blew us all away, and the girls couldn't have had a better time. As we walked away Paisley said in her highest, most enthusiastic voice, "That was a CUTE party!" with a big smile on her face.

While Paisley and I went to the party, Cado and Daddy went down to the Lakeside where for two weeks they are having this huge "fetes de geneve" with a bunch of fair rides and booths. They ate churros and went on rides and Cado loved it!
spencer on Monday August 11, 2008
This was the first "ride" we did. Cado loved it even though I felt like I got taken. The excellent paintings and Virtual 3D are 100% facade. The inside was hanging neon lights, one girl mannequin painted black to be cat woman, and another male mannequin painted black to be batman. There was one point were a batman symbol was shown on the wall, but for the most part it had little to nothing to do with Batman inside.

Despite all that, Cado thought it was one of the best things at the fair. I noted that it was the most expensive.

yes, I confess she is wearing a touch of makeup! a bit of eyeshadow in lavendar, a spot of blush, a smear of lipstick, and a swipe of mascara!
Peter312 on Monday August 11, 2008

Paisley is going to miss these great friends of hers when you come back. Not easy, I know since I went through it many times.

Who's the fairest one of all. My daughter of course.

We are so happy about the friends that Paisley has here (and Cado too).

I bet the other fathers would claim otherwise.

Words of Wisdom I hope I can remember and live by!
"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley "I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley
