I'll comment more on all of these later, but let me just say that I think this place must to some extent epitomize Switzerland. It is gorgeous and breathtaking and awe-inspiring in its beauty. Majestic mountains, quaint, old, rural, steeped in tradition little towns carved into the mountainside, and cows, pastures and cheese. I'm so glad we went! Some of these first pictures were taken while driving in the car, like this one. Do you see the eethereal mountains covered in snow and clouds? LOVE IT!

The flags are the Swiss flag (red with white cross, indicating four equal parts or Swiss cultures, moreso than christianity) and the Bern canton bear flag.

Unbelievable ! ! !  Is that a waterfall in the middle of the town?

spencer on Sunday August 24, 2008

pretty much.  There were actually several of these types of waterfalls coming from the mountain tops.  Some of them, this one included I think, have a hike up to and behind the waterfall.

And the third flag here is of the Jungfrau area.

But mainly he's just worried his wife won't make it back into the gondola in time to go with them because she jumped out to take this picture.

Words of Wisdom I hope I can remember and live by!
"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley "I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley
