I biked up to the top of the Saleve a few weeks back (1400 meters high while Geneva is only 373 meters, meaning I climbed 3,300 feet to get up to the top of this). These pictures even prove it. I'm looking out over Geneva and Lake Geneva. The map shows you, what you probably assumed from the picture, that its quite the cliff after this point and that's why those people can jump of and para-glide. You'll also notice that the French have decided to eat away at the mountain for whatever reason.

I love views from cliffs. It's great to see the contrast in the color at the top as opposed to the color of the countryside below, being so green...the "Juice"...BONZAI.....!!!!!!!!!!
